Crying coming from the cradle,
No matter the time of night you are there,
Together counting steps from zero,
All the way to running,

Midday sun and backyard laughter,
You stare out the window, a smile escapes your lips,
Evening vibe, games on the table,

To watch them grow is almost painful,
Smiles are slowly fading,
Worries entering their lives now,
It's all a part of living,

It's been a long time since the sandbox,
And now they're taller than you,
